About This Episode
The Danske Drabssager podcast series has launched an investigation into how women become involved in serious crime in Denmark, drawing on historical cases and contemporary criminology research.
One prominent case featured in the series concerns a 1922 taxi driver robbery-murder. The podcast episode dedicated to this case explores the circumstances and individuals involved, examining it as part of a broader pattern of women's involvement in violent crime during this period.
The series takes a sociological approach to its subject matter, moving beyond sensationalism to investigate the social, economic, and personal factors that lead women into criminal activity. Episodes like "Mit liv som kriminel" (My Life as a Criminal) delve deeper into individual criminal trajectories, offering listeners insight into how circumstances and choices intersect in criminal careers.

The series appears to reference official Danish criminal justice documentation, including strategic analyses from Danish law enforcement, suggesting an evidence-based approach to its subject matter.
The podcast's focus on women's criminality is notable within true crime media, which traditionally concentrates on male perpetrators. By centering women's experiences and decision-making processes, the series contributes to a more complete understanding of criminal behavior across demographic groups.
Available through major podcast platforms, the series reaches both Danish and international audiences, though primary source material appears concentrated in Danish-language documentation and analysis.
