About This Episode
"Trafikvrede endte i dødsfald (2:3)" — "Road Rage Ended in Death" — is an episode of the Danish podcast Bag om forbrydelsen ("Behind the Crime"), hosted by Carsten Nymann and Jesper Ramsing. It follows the trial of a 60-year-old man charged with assault resulting in death, a distinct offence under Danish law, after a confrontation on the motorway near the city of Aalborg.
The case dates back to July 2024, when two men who did not know each other ended up in an open conflict while driving on the motorway. The dispute escalated, and when the two drivers left the motorway and stopped their cars, the road rage turned into physical violence. One of the men, aged 67, died the following day from his injuries.
In court, the central question is what actually happened during those moments: whether blows or kicks were delivered, and what specifically caused the 67-year-old's death. Witnesses to the incident and forensic pathologists have given evidence in an attempt to establish the sequence of events and the extent of the injuries, while the court must decide whether the 60-year-old is guilty as charged.
Bag om forbrydelsen is a weekly podcast that examines major criminal cases in North Jutland (Nordjylland), the northernmost region of Denmark, ranging from historical cases to ongoing investigations. This episode, the second of three on the case, was released on 23 September 2026 and runs for 32 minutes. The full series can be found under the title Bag om forbrydelsen.
