"Episode 331: Et forståeligt drab?" ("An Understandable Killing?") is an episode of Mørkeland, a Danish true crime podcast that works its way through the darkest criminal cases in Denmark. It centres on a man found dead in his apartment on Jagtvej, a long thoroughfare in Copenhagen, after his wife turned up at the police station in Nørrebro, a district of the Danish capital, early one morning in November.

Her explanation was a startling one. She told officers that she had woken up beside her husband, who was cold and dead, and that he must have strangled himself during the night. A noose had been tied around his neck, with the other end of the cord fastened to one of the legs of the bed.

An officer went back to the apartment with her. The man was lying dead on the bed — dressed in dirty clothes, in sheets that were otherwise clean. It is the kind of detail that raises questions about what actually took place in the apartment that night, and the hosts work through the case from the 00:07:01 mark in the episode.

Listeners should be aware that the episode contains discussion of suicide.

Mørkeland is presented by Camilla Bjerregaard Aurvig and Kristine Sofie Bugbee, who make the show together with a third journalist. The podcast began in 2018 and is produced in Danish. This episode runs for 84 minutes and was released on 11 October 2026. Research was carried out by Ellinor Fogh Gyldenløve, editing was handled by Anders Eske, and the music comes from Bensound.
