About This Episode
What is this episode about?
The episode The Vietnamese Gore Butcher from RedHanded covers the 2025 spread of videos showing a gruesome beheading and dismemberment on gore-fetish websites across Vietnam. What shook viewers was not simply the brutality of the footage, but the suggestion that the victim appeared to have been actively involved in planning his own murder. The episode explores the unsettling questions this raises: whether consent changes the nature of a crime, and whether this case could represent the world's first genuine snuff film. It also follows the community of cybersleuths who launched one of the most intense open-source investigations seen online, attempting to crack the case themselves from scattered digital clues.
