"Afsløret #18: Manden med en dyster hemmelighed – del 3" is the closing episode of a three-part series from Afsløret, a Danish true crime podcast in which journalists investigate criminal cases that have left deep marks on their local communities. It follows the case against 49-year-old businessman Bjarne Aakmann Tøgersen to its final conclusion.
Tøgersen was convicted in September of crimes against 19 children. The state prosecutor was not satisfied with the length of the sentence, and the judgment was therefore appealed to Vestre Landsret, the Western High Court of Denmark, which hears appeals from the country's district courts. This third and final instalment describes how the case was ultimately settled at that appellate level.
Journalists Nicklas Ansbjerg Nielsen and Zarah Leth Grothe recount the case in the episode, with Maria Frellesen Pedersen as host.
