Murder Castle

A 2004 documentary by John Borowski covering the crimes of H.H. Holmes, the fraudster and serial killer who built a 'Murder Castle' near the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.

The H.H. Holmes murders are a series of killings attributed to con artist Herman Mudgett in 1890s Chicago, with only some victims confirmed and many claims disputed by historians.

In 1892, H.H. Holmes constructed a three-story building in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood that would become synonymous with some of America's first confirmed serial murders. What locals called the 'Murder Castle' was actually a hotel marketed to World's Fair visitors—a place where at least six confirmed victims vanished.
