Fraudacious Probes Fraud Claims Against Socialite Ekaterina Barrett

Fraudacious is a British investigative podcast series in six episodes, released in spring 2026. Journalist Vicky Baker follows the trail of socialite Ekaterina Barrett, who is accused of defrauding former friends and acquaintances of millions of pounds, from London via Vienna and the Netherlands to Monaco.

## Host

Vicky Baker is a British journalist who has previously worked in investigative reporting for the BBC. In Fraudacious, she tracks down the people who say they were defrauded, and tries to find Barrett herself.

## Concept

The series takes as its starting point London shop owner Bridget Hutchcroft, who lent Ekaterina Barrett over a million pounds that was never repaid. From there, Baker follows a pattern of loans, promises and disappearances across Europe. The series is told chronologically as one continuous story.

The trailer was released on 23 February 2026, and the final episode, House of Cards, was released on 6 April 2026. The series is produced by Novel in collaboration with BBC Studios.
