The Natascha Kampusch Story: 8.5 Years in Captivity

The documentary tells the story of one of Europe's most shocking kidnapping cases - Natascha Kampusch, who was abducted on her way to school in Vienna on March 2, 1998.

The Austrian girl was only 10 years old when she was kidnapped by Wolfgang Přiklopil. He kept her locked in a hidden cellar beneath his garage for almost eight and a half years. During this time, Natascha lived under extremely controlled and isolated conditions, cut off from the outside world.

The documentary portrays the incredible story of her captivity and her dramatic escape on August 23, 2006, when she finally managed to break free at the age of 18. Shortly after Natascha's escape, Přiklopil took his own life by throwing himself in front of a train.

The film offers insight into one of the most extreme kidnapping cases of modern times and highlights Natascha's remarkable ability to survive. The case sparked massive international attention and raised questions about how a child could vanish and remain hidden for years while police searched for her.
