Natascha Kampusch: The Whole Story

The documentary covers one of Europe's most shocking true crime cases: the Natascha Kampusch case. On 2 March 1998, 10-year-old Natascha was kidnapped on her way to school in Vienna by Wolfgang Přiklopil, who held her locked in a hidden cellar room beneath his house in the suburb of Strasshof.

For 3,096 days, Natascha lived under inhumane conditions in the tiny, soundproofed room. She was subjected to psychological terror, isolation, and abuse while her kidnapper controlled every aspect of her life. Over the years, she underwent a complex psychological transformation in order to survive.

On 23 August 2006, Natascha, now 18, finally managed to escape while Přiklopil was briefly distracted. Hours after her escape, her kidnapper took his own life by throwing himself in front of a train.

The documentary offers an in-depth look at the entire course of events - from the kidnapping, through the eight years of captivity, to the escape and its aftermath. The film also sheds light on the many questions and controversies surrounding the case, as well as Natascha's remarkable ability to rebuild her life after her traumatic experiences.
