Crimes That Shook Britain
The documentary series Crimes That Shook Britain examines some of the most shocking and memorable criminal cases in British history. Among the cases the series covers is that of Suzy Lamplugh, a 25-year-old estate agent who vanished without a trace in London on 28 July 1986.
Suzy Lamplugh was due to meet a client named 'Mr. Kipper' to show him a property in Fulham. She was never seen again. Her car was later found parked near the property with her handbag still inside, but there was no trace of Suzy herself.
The case triggered a massive investigation and remains one of Britain's most notorious unsolved disappearances. Over the years, police have named several suspects, including convicted serial killer John Cannan, who has repeatedly denied any involvement. Suzy Lamplugh was declared legally dead in 1994, but her body has never been found.
Crimes That Shook Britain combines archival footage, expert interviews and detailed reviews of the investigations to give viewers insight into how these crimes affected British society and changed the way safety was handled, particularly for people working alone.
