Stolen Sister

Pushkin Industries and the acclaimed Bad Women brand have released a new podcast series about an unsolved disappearance in Ireland in September 1976 — and the investigation has already made contact with around a dozen witnesses who have never previously come forward.

In late August 1976, 23-year-old Elizabeth Plunkett vanished from Brittas Bay in County Wicklow, Ireland. Her body was discovered weeks later—raped, strangled, and bound to a lawnmower. Nearly 50 years later, her sisters are demanding justice for a crime that was never prosecuted.

In August and September 1976, English serial killers Geoffrey Evans and John Shaw abducted, raped, and murdered two young Irish women in what became known as Ireland's first serial killing case. Despite confessing to both murders, neither man was ever convicted of the crimes.
