Ghislaine Maxwell is a British socialite who in December 2021 was convicted of sex trafficking and other crimes related to her role as Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirator in years of sexual abuse of underage girls. She was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in June 2022. Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 after months in hiding following Epstein's death in custody.
