Siren: The Voices of Shelley Beattie is a feature-length HBO documentary about the deaf bodybuilder who became a television star as the gladiator 'Siren'. Directed by Irene Taylor and produced in part by Marlee Matlin, it traces Beattie's life with mental illness up to her death in 2008 at the age of 40.
