Ursula Herrmann was abducted on her way home from school on September 15, 1981, in the Bavarian town of Eching near Munich. The 10-year-old girl was found dead in a wooden coffin buried in a forest after a failed ransom demand. The case remained unsolved for nearly 30 years until a married couple was arrested in 2010.

When 10-year-old Ursula Herrmann vanished from her family's garden in Bavaria in 1981, no one could find her. Three years later, she was discovered dead in a homemade underground prison in the woods. It wasn't until 2008 that pioneering voice analysis led to the conviction of her neighbor.

On 7 May 2001, nine-year-old Peggy Knobloch vanished while walking home from school in Lichtenberg, Bavaria, just 50 metres from her house. Fifteen years later, her remains were discovered in a forest—but the case remains unsolved, marked by false confessions, bungled investigations, and lingering questions.
