The John Lennon murder is a solved 1980 American homicide in which Mark David Chapman shot and killed the former Beatle outside the Dakota apartment building in New York City.

On 26 September 1980, a bomb exploded at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, killing 13 people and wounding more than 200. The device was detonated at the entrance to the Theresienwiese fairgrounds during the festival's peak evening hours. The attacker's identity was established but his full network and motives were never officially resolved, with investigations pointing toward far-right extremist circles.
