About This Episode
"FORTIDENS FANGARME – Guldfuglen del 2" ("The Tentacles of the Past – The Golden Bird, Part 2") is an episode of the Danish podcast Danske Kriminalsager, and it tells the second half of the story of Martin Fryd Petersen, a former biker who was declared persona non grata in his old world after he began cooperating with police against Hells Angels and the group AK81.
As part of that cooperation, Petersen was placed in witness protection and given a new identity. The episode looks closely at what he had actually agreed to when he struck the deal, who he became after breaking with his past, and how a secret that could cost him his life eventually caught up with him.
This is the concluding instalment of a two-part series on the case known as Guldfuglen ("The Golden Bird"). It picks up the threads left by the first episode, which dealt with Petersen's role as a police informant and the consequences that role had for his life once he turned his back on the biker milieu.
Journalist and author Marie Louise Toksvig takes part in the episode, while journalist and author Thea Pedersen is responsible for the production. The episode runs 40 minutes and is the second in the series on the case.
Danske Kriminalsager is a podcast that examines significant Danish criminal cases and what they have meant for police investigative methods and for the justice system.
