What is this episode about?

The episode "Push" covers the death of a teenage boy named Michael, who fell to his death after being dared to be pushed from a three-story train trestle on a freezing winter night. A group of teenage boys were hanging out when the reckless bet turned deadly, and Brian, one of the group, is the one who carries out the push. Prosecutor Kristin is assigned to the case as her jurisdiction pursues felony murder charges against the teenagers involved, turning a single reckless act into a sprawling and controversial legal battle. Kristin ends up fighting largely on her own to hold the entire group accountable, confronting the difficult question of how responsible each teenager should be for a death that only one of them physically caused.

Kristin brings decades of prosecutorial experience to the account. She began her legal career in 1992 as a deputy prosecuting attorney for King County, WA, and over ten years as a criminal prosecutor conducted more than 50 jury trials across several divisions, with a caseload ranging from property crime to homicide and a particular focus on domestic violence. She later attended the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, SC, became a trial advocacy instructor there, and eventually moved to a position with the Vermont Department of Public Safety.
