In the episode "MURDERED: María Marta García Belsunce Part 2" from Crime Junkie, released on April 2, 2024, the hosts continue their account of one of Argentina's most sensational murder mysteries, in which the death of a wealthy woman turned an entire nation upside down.
When tragedy strikes a privileged milieu, it isn't always strangers who come under suspicion. In this concluding installment of the two-part series, suspicion turns inward toward the victim's closest family, and the case develops into something far more complex than a simple murder — involving lies, a life of luxury, and a trial that had all of Argentina holding its breath.
The episode is the second and final part of Crime Junkie's coverage of the case and assumes listeners have already heard part one. It offers insight into how class divides and family dynamics can play a decisive role when justice is sought in a case shrouded in secrets.
