Below the Surface is a true crime podcast from AbJack Entertainment that takes on a series of strange and unusual criminal cases, all tied together by a single common element: a connection to water. The show mixes solved and unsolved cases, some of them well known, others that have received far less attention.
The podcast is hosted by Olivia McKenzie, who also co-hosts True Crime Society. Mike Morford handles production, while research and scripts are provided by Abagail Belcastro, known from Campus Killings.
Season 1 of Below the Surface launched on 3 January 2026, with new episodes arriving every other Saturday. The podcast runs to 15 episodes in total. The most recent episode, which deals with the case of Eileen Zarlenga, was released on 31 August 2026. Other instalments cover Grigori Rasputin and Louisa Ioannidis.
