Norwegian Podcast Explores Ethics in Crime Journalism

The Norwegian podcast 'Aftenbla-bla', hosted by Harald and Leif, takes an in-depth look at the ethical challenges that face crime journalists and media organisations in Norway. Produced by regional newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad, the show is available on Apple Podcasts, one of the world's leading podcast platforms.

Ethics at the Heart of Crime Coverage

The hosts use their platform to debate the complex questions that arise in crime journalism, going beyond straightforward reporting to examine how media power shapes public perception of criminal cases. These are questions that resonate well beyond Norway's borders, touching on standards and responsibilities that true crime media outlets worldwide must navigate.

Broader Social and Political Topics

Alongside discussions rooted in crime reporting ethics, the podcast also ventures into wider societal themes — including questions about political balance in Norwegian public discourse and a range of personal perspectives and areas of expertise brought by the hosts themselves.

With 441 episodes published and its most recent episode released in April 2026, 'Aftenbla-bla' represents a sustained and ongoing conversation about the responsibilities of journalists who cover crime.
