Nathan Carman

The Nathan Carman case is a US federal murder-and-fraud matter in which Vermont man Nathan Carman was accused of killing his mother Linda at sea in 2016 and his grandfather in 2013.

A new Netflix true crime documentary examines the case of Nathan Carman, who in 2016 was rescued alone from the Atlantic Ocean after a fishing trip with his mother, Linda Carman, whose body was never recovered. Three years earlier, his grandfather John Chakalos had been shot dead in his Connecticut home. The documentary revisits both deaths and the federal fraud charges filed against Carman before his death in custody in 2023.
