Herlev

An 81-year-old widow was murdered in her Herlev home during the 2011 Christmas holidays in Denmark. The case mobilized homicide investigators, forensic technicians, and medical examiners who immediately suspended their vacation to pursue the investigation into what was described as a heartless act.

On June 25, 2003, two Swedish men were shot dead on a residential street in Herlev, Denmark, in a killing that exposed the spread of Scandinavian gang violence across national borders. Five Swedish defendants were convicted, with three receiving life sentences and two minors handed the maximum 20-year terms ever imposed on juveniles in Danish legal history.
